Agreed about the manky start to gold rush, but check your grip has a manky start for most of the year also.

I once heard a story of a guy that sought out routes based on the letter that came after the numeric grade.

Not what you're thinking...

5.10r "is a recommended route"
5.10x "is an excellent route"

Gold Rush is a wandering jug haul one-move wonder with a manky start. This debate could go on for ages because there's no proper definition of a 5 star route. You would be better off debating abortion or gun control.

The line in the Red that most inspires me is Kaleidoscope. Never been on it and way above my head but man it looks cool.

each move in a route is just a chance for it to suck... which is why the best routes are 3-move boulder problems.

you're welcome.

SCIN, I'm sure you read the explanation I gave in my email to Dave. I don't expect all or any of my suggestions to make any changes, just throwing my 2 cents in when Dave asked. Plus it def. needs proof read a few times and all the numbers line up with the maps.

Just make sure your favorite routes don't end up on that list, unless of course you enjoy polished holds, lines, toilet paper at the base etc.. anti-spray is what all the cool kids are doing now
