Here's a shot of the inside of the building before any utilities are installed. The hundreds of 1x4s are to hang the wall coverings on. This day, we were framing the new subfloor for the kitchen and restroom addition that extends off the back of the building.
The kitchen addition and restrooms.
We found that the best way to fix the bad concrete slab was to build a new floor above it. This slab was poured over 40 years ago over loose backfill. With the weight of the old building on it, the slab dropped over time. The winter of 07, just a few weeks before the fire, we had done this same thing to make the floor level so everyones eggs didn't run to the low end of the grill. The rest of the store will also have a new floor that is level as well.
Looking at the back of the store at the restroom addition. By extending the restrooms off the back, it freed up lots of space inside. When the weather gets nice again, we'll build a deck along the rest of the rear of the store above the bad concrete slab adding several more seats as well as a sweet view of the creek. Believe it or not, the road noise back here is all but gone. It's going to be a great place to hang out......AGAIN!!

Art, you really can't tell form the photos I posted, but there are several windows along the back wall. They decided not to put any along the front for several reasons, mainly because, the view sucks looking that way and this provides more clear wall space inside for display. We will cut the windows in when the weather warms up. It also lessens the openings for someone like Trial Tutt to get in before we get the security devices in place.

I remember that throne! Too bad we can't have steps on these. We have to comply with the handicap accessable rules this time being new construction. Also, the way the room will be layed out, you won't be able to see into either bathroom from the dining area as the doors are opened.

I am looking forward to having some more French toast at your place, too bad that with all of the das Krue's wonderful endeavors there will be sooo many fewer climbers to potentially be your customers
