by khakis, do you mean those manpri length brown pant a loons like chicks wear? or soemthing you'd wear to a casual day at work?

I wear manpri's...more specifically, I wear my wife's old maternity capris. They are light, breath well, comfy, lots of room, and have small pockets in places that doesn't interfere with the harness. As a plus, I'm old so I don't care who laughs at me.

They don't sound 'man' anything, but rather women's maternity clothes. But hell if they work, they work.

Manpris are the way to go for sure. Don't let the fashion zealots hold you back. Shorts can be ok too, but I cut up my knees.

Jeans suck - way too hot and bulky.

whatever, scrubbs are super comfy, but they wouldn't hold up for shit and people would expect you to do shit when they hurt themselves

i didn't even know wearing jeans climbing was cool. people used to make fun of me for it all the time. but the notion of buying "climbing clothing" always seemed stupid and unecessary to me. i already owned jeans, so it seemed a simple enough solution to me.
