you guys are a bunch of fags. not the nice kind fags either, you know, the fag that will help you pick out your tie for prom so you can bag the prom queen...no you're the dirty kinda fag that hangs out in the rest area pretending to piss next to some guy so you can catch a glance at his cock...

really... tell me dusty, would you stop climbing if they made it illegal? The only reason that people don't poach pocket wall is because they don't want to jeopardize "future" possibilities that maybe on a whim that the State Park system would do what they are mandated to do, and thats promote recreation, not become eastern kentucky land barrons. From what I understand the guy that has put the iksnay on climbing has a personal reason for doing it. He wrote a rapelling guide and some climber snubbed him. Said author worked for the State Park and he had climbing on state park land shut down. If you really want to open climbing up in the state park, then get a lawyer, Get video cameras announce to the Parkies that you are going to go climbing at pocket wall. When they show up to arrest you / give you a ticket. Take the ticket/ go to jail. Make bail and then that evening on the news, have the news station broadcast the commercial that they've been playing on the air about promoting rock climbing then show them arresting people climbing. Thats how you catch goverment entities in their hypocracy.

People you need to get on board:
(1) The victim rock climber- I'll take the hit for the team if you can find me a belayer. How about you dusty, wanna go climbing?
(2) Get the news organization on board. Shouldn't be too hard, a phone call would do it.
(3) Get a lawyer with a retainer.
(4) Set up a bail fund. Have a paypal account set up to take bail donations. After the charges are dropped, either return the money to the contributors or have it go to the access fund or the RRGCC.

So who's in?

I'm pretty sure they chopped the bolts at Pocket Wall.

Wow, what craziness! All I said was that they'd never allow climbers back in... guess my perspective makes me a 'douche'. why so touchy?

Would I like to climb there again? SURE--climbing is awesome... but, uh, reality check fellas:

STATE parks are not related to FEDERAL agencies (i.e., daniel boone NF). seriously. their priorities are very different. it screams ignorance when people lump the two together in their minds (happens all the time). The two agencies do not share policies in any way.... i.e, you can walk off trail as much as you'd like in the a NF, but must stay on trail in a SP. You can hunt in national forests, but not in state parks. same with having open fires, or camping where you please, or mushroom hunting, or rock climbing, or having dogs off of a leash... the list of differences goes on and on. Just because they have "real good rock climbing" doesn't mean they need to share the same policies for that activity. Again, they have different priorities (which is exactly[b/] why you find a chairlift and paddly boats in a state park, but not in a national forest..to use the given examples).

I've worked extensively with OH, AZ, CA, & KY national forests (fed), kentucky state nature preserves commission (state), KY state & resort parks (state), KY's national parks (fed), KY wildlife management areas (state). But more importantly, my experience is not constrained by the bounds of the RRG and it does not start and stop at rock climbing. Go out and get some perspective and then tell me that they should "re-open" NBSP to climbing.

Come to think of it, ATV users outnumber climbers a gazillion to one. They'd sooner let ATV'ers rip through natural bridge than let climbers tear it up again.

I am sure a toprope would still get you the ticket/arrest if that is what you are looking for... I don't think the state park system knows the difference any ways. But what do I know... I only have a masters degree in Recreation and Park Administration...
