And those of us with non-climbing significant others can team up. Wait a minute, maybe that's not such a good idea. :?

Unfortunately, I can't promise you all that, rhunt. But think about it....from this board you can tell who you like more than others, who you think is interesting, funny, a pain in the ass, or whatever...all based on their writing style. This could be good!

And I don't think ego bloating will be as easy as you think, Rain Man. As soon as someone tries to talk themselves up all friends and family are invited to knock that ego back down to where it belongs. Or back it up. :)

so after the 'singles' board has been running a while...you set up a 'paridise tent' at the Red. Make it a two or three week event. Put the guys and gals with their prospective 'others' and let it all go. Then the judges (the climbers who are already married, engaged, etc etc) will judge them on their ability to climb together, and do all of lifes other things together.

Most the couples I know argue and bicker constantly out climbing.

"are you watching me?", "Hey...I'm the one climbing here, pay attention to the slack", "I said I'm clipping you bastard, why don't you give me a little rope?"

"No!!! I said TAKE, not SAFE!!!!

And then the rest of the couples I know who climb are soooo mushy gushy that I feel like vomitting.

Actually, rhunt, I'd almost be more interested in a girl that climbs hard trad, because the transition to sport is easy, just climb and clip. Whereas someone like myself, who doesn't have any trad gear and has never placed a piece of pro in his brief climbing career, would not be able to smoothly transition into the trad world without instruction (which works just as well, as I'd like to place gear at some point anyway.)...But, sport or trad, it doesn't matter, it's all good.

Better yet, put them on a portaledge with no gear in the middle of say Where Lizards Dare and make them stay there a while.
