Climbing Through Injury

So, I popped my A2 in January. Been soaking it in bourbon since then. I have only climbed once and it was just a week ago. It didn't hurt, So I may just climb every 5.10 in the Red. Have myself a blast doing it, too. That'll take care of the weight I've gained and get me back in shape.

My philosophy on climbing is to have fun.

I started climbing way to late and Am never going to be a Tommy Caldwell. So my over-riding concern is to have a blast! I worry about getting older and the "recovery" from the recovery.

I think that if you don't let life interfere with living your life then you'll be O.K. Just be smart, If it hurts, Stop and most of all Have fun

Wow, KD! In retrospect, do you think all this impact on your body was mismanagement on your part? Are you planning a different approach when you climb again, or will you climb until you experience this level of wear and have to take another break? What's the management plan?

Definitely have given it some thought. It was entirely my fault and accumulated on me over the years. Wearing looser shoes is the first thing. Keeping up with the exercises the pt showed me. Get some weight off. And when I do climb again, don't let it be everything.

I have spent the last three months working on archery. I just placed third in my first comp today. The class I competed in was the most populated and with the stiffest competition. I'm going to another tomorrow and Hopefully I can swing a second or a first. I wouldn't even be surprised If I didn't place at all. Oh well, I have had a blast and just playing was a thrill.
Thats some of my off season training. Off season being a heat index of 106 degrees. HAH! :mrgreen:
