Yesterday I saw a cop parked in front of one of the houses (with kids playing out front) on Baldrock. I assumed he was running a speed trap since he was just sitting in the car facing the direction of the PMRP and it was late in the day.

Well, on a no-fault road that doesn't have a posted speed limit. The default speed limit is 55 MPH. I doubt very seriously that anyone was driving at that speed. If they were I don't think all of the "mothering" in the world would have any effect on that person.

Hey Stephanie -
I know that nothing I say will ever allow you to see yourself through other peoples eyes. I know that you have a very high opinion of your own opinion as does everyone of their own opinion. So that being said.
You should consider what I've said and
try to look at it through other peoples eyes. Look at how you look to an outsider. You are telling people that they should drive with sense. Like you're some sort of play ground moderator. Sillyness. People navigated their way to the Red from diverse places around the globe. They carry their own insurance. Make their own car payments and pay rent. In short they are card carrying functional members of society. But for some strange reason you've appointed yourself playground moderator, talking about signage and how other people should conduct themselves in public. Thats terribly presumptive. I just pointed out the ridiculousness of your post.

I'm sorry everyone. I am an idiot. What I wanted to say was that you should slow down and drive with care.

Funny, nobody seemed to mind when anti put up a thread "mothering" people about our climbing.
And for the record, I appreciate both threads. Just friendly well meaning reminders to keep each other safe and climbing easily accessible.

Joe, you know, once I saw someone belaying you with an ATC with her brake holding the device rather than the rope. If only I saw how ridiculous I looked then when I quickly said something.
This is a simple request from the residing family on Bald Rock Rd and we are striving to maintain good ties with locals because 1. they're great and 2. they benefit our climbing community. For the most part, climbers are great but a few pass through without regard to anything other than how nice dad's SUV drives off-road.
