Right on Larry, these routes are prerequisite for any well-wounded, I mean rounded RRG climber IMO.... thanks for the pics!

L Day, how often did you guys wear helmets back then?

I kind of went through phases.
1) Early on I bought a Joe Brown helmet, a rather heavy fiberglass affair, and wore it almost always. I'm wearing it on Arachnid.
2) I started wearing a helmet "selectively". Okay, I threw the damned thing in the closest and it never came back out, even for ice climbing. I did wear a white stocking cap though, and, if you squint your eyes, it kind of looks like a helmet.
3) Guiding full time, I started wearing a helmet again, a light weight Edelrid, I think, (gotta set a good example) liked it a lot, especially for winter climbing, and that was pretty much that (though I still didn't wear one when I was "just rock climbing" on my own). Looking through the photos, several of my partners wore a helmet more often than I did.
Today, I always wear a helmet for alpine skiing and, if I ever start climbing again, I will wear a helmet, honest, I will. For real.

Thanks for the compliments guys. Glad you enjoyed the pictures. I've been home with a bad cold for the last few days and it's given me time to start figuring this stuff out. I probably should have used photobucket, but if you send a "Friends" request to my Facebook page you can see more stuff like this.

I've got an awful lot of old slides. If I can find them, and find the time to scan them, I'll get 'em up. Thanks again for the very nice comments. Keep it safe. We'll all be dead soon enough, so no rush to get there, okay?

Larry,
Ever consider coming back to the red during oh, I don't know, rocktoberfest or sometime to do a sweet asssssss slide show of all the old school throwdowns?
Just wondering, because it would be awesome!
