pigsteak wrote:and, dipsi, this thread is about to prove EXACTLY your point.
it might present evidence for the fact that I am not THE Christian basher on this site.
pigsteak wrote:caribe, are you embarassed by your brethern?
That is funny. There is no church. Just because Alan Evil does not believe in unicorns does not make us brothers in church-like unity.
pigsteak wrote: and then a horde who believes JUST LIKE YOU comes out and spews their hate...yep, you non beleivers are all alike, and the most hatful people out there.
Well, I agree with Alan's first sentence: "Some of the best people I've known in my life have been Christians." . . . The post that I contributed after Alan's post summed up most succinctly what I believe. In a word,
down boy, my response to Alan's post is out there.

I bet I could have a beer with Alan in the company of Christians without the hatred. I am not sure, I don't know him.
pigsteak wrote:that being said, caribe, are you man enough to denounce his version of reality as unacceptable and never climb with him?
No, he is denouncing a particular philosophy instead of a group of people. If I denounce racists, sexists and gay bashers does that make me a hater? Can we have opinions without hatred? He acknowledges that there is a way to do Christianity that will not brush him the wrong way. In this he is pluralistic. I do not have much argumentative latitude here due to my agreement with Dipsi and all Christians on RRC.com.

No, Saxman is a brother. He is also not hateful to anyone, including Christians.
pigsteak wrote:I am assuming you will do the right thing and also no longer climb with him. if not, please call yourself out as a hypocrite right here just like all these religious nut jobs they hate.
Well, Crankmas made racist statements. I am not climbing with him because his statements indicate to me that he has an agenda. He has the right to be racist, but I no longer feel safe with him. I don't think he values my life. If anyone has a problem with individual members of religion Z or Q for reason X and Y and they state how they are adversely affecting P (where P might be politics, quality of life, education etc.), this is simply dialog. I don't think it is correct to parse this criticism as hate. Alan did come on a strong though. In any case I do not feel hypocritical in not denouncing Sax and Alan.
