I finally spoke with the Forest Service today. They have been concentrating on getting 715 open but are close to getting that done. They are starting to turn their attention to trails. In addition to Forest Service employees, they have also mobilized a number of contractor teams who specialize in tree removal. Just to be clear, they ONLY allow certified employees and contactors to use a chainsaw on Forest land. However, they do allow volunteers to use hand tools.
The good news is that they are considering assigning one of their contractor teams to work with climbers this weekend to clear Rough Trail from the Martin's Fork trailhead up to Tunnel Ridge Road along with the two side trails to Military and Left Flank. Let me know if you are willing and able to help and I will get this coordinated.

Cleared the trail to the shire today. Might need a bit more clean up and some trail love, but should be passable. Will try to get to crossroads in the next week or so.
Crossroads have been taken care of about 3 weeks ago.
Darkside is a mess. More than I can handle. There one huge tree that crosses the path twice, it forks, and just about devoured my chainsaw.
will someone who has a chainsaw please clear the 5 or 6 trees on the way to the chocolate factory? they all fell in one spot together. the trail is in pretty good shape other than that one spot.

there's also a tree down on the way to the playground. not a major inconvenience, but if you have a chainsaw would be nice to clear it out of the path.
