Ever see a figure 8 eat up a T-shirt on rappel? A titty twister' of rope, shirt and '8, left a girl I knew hanging mid rap'. Had to come down and cut her shirt free with a knife, leaving about an 8 inch diameter hole in the middle of it for the rest of the day.

Seriously! Late summer, 1977, at Devils Lake Wisc. Braless' 70's kinda girl. Hole as big as a dinner plate resulted. Of course she flipped her shirt around when she got down and wore it backwards the rest of the day until she could replace. How could I forget a crazy moment like that?

Pretty much everything christians do that is hypocritical offends me, and that includes some idiot thinking a girl flying in a harness over a stage has anything to do with jesus.

A girl dies in a tragic accident, and you use this opportunity to attack her (and my) faith? That speaks a lot about your character.

your faith, eh? I'll take a straight shot.

Churches have embraced production technologies in the past 20 years like few others have. Perhaps it is because the word of god is no longer as powerful as the moment that a lighting cue, a rock band, and a flying chick can provide. Our culture is hooked on entertainment and the christian faith has bought into it BIG TIME.

perhaps the next big thing will be cruises for jesus? that way people can gorge themselves at will, listen to christian rock bands, and have the animatronic characters of the bible providing evening entertainment?

People have lost their way in modern times and they try to find salvation (or business contacts-whichever come first) in churches that allow 20,000 to worship at one time and treat their preacher like god's rock stars.

Since when does the word of god require a professional line array sound system, sophisticated lighting system, and a television broadcast?

now michael, I am not singling you out but since you profess to be a christian I will take this opportunity to let you know that millions of people have spirituality but don't require Sunday services, elaborate christmas productions, or self proclaimed "men of god" to lead their prayers.

"attack your faith"? I sure as hell will and then I will go spend my Sunday in my "church" --under the canopy of winter trees, next to a cold and rushing creek, and listen for the call of the first spring birds.

KD and Sax, sometimes you guys break me the fuck up with laughter...
