what do you eat (or don't eat?)
but that is the thing. they don't feed cows grass anymore they give them corn, which cows did not evolve to eat but it is cheaper and easier to ship in corn than maintain a source of grass for cows to feed on. So because the cows are being fed corn and not grass they are being pumped full of antibiotics b/c a corn diet makes them sick. great idea.

I've been a veggie (lacto ovo) for almost six years. Originally for all the standard hippie reasons, but soon learned that my system prefers to not have much meat. Besides better digestion, I can't say I've noticed a difference in how I feel. I've often heard people say they don't feel as good if they don't eat meat, and I've always been curious as to exactly how they feel differently and under what conditions. From my experience, given that I still do eggs and dairy, I haven't noticed the least bit of difference.

i'm not arguing for mass production (foreign or not). I'm all for locally grown, organic, granola-fed, hippy shit. i would just GUESS that the amount of food to feed a population (such as lexington) year round would require a lot more than existing farms can produce. unfortunately there is only so much farmland, a finite amount of money to be spent on food production, and a finite amount of money that people are able to spend on that food.
