Montana does indeed have terrible rock..... but 512OW, sshh, let's try to keep as many Californians and Cooloradans as possible out of the cowboy state.... I do agree with you on Lander!

Ya if you want to have a truly great climbing town you have to live close to good views from the tops of climbs otherwise no dice. That is the dumbest shit I've ever heard.

i've never really heard much fourwheeling from bald rock sans the douchebags that can't make it up the hill.

views from the top are nice but they aren't everything. i'd say knoxville, reno, new england in general (its all so close to one another) and somewhere in the western part of NC.

colorado isucks and it has lots of rock that sucks hence its many chances to show how sucky it really is.

there is no great place to live and climb. face it, climbing sucks.

this thread is confusing.
and all over a R&I 'top ten list'? the fact that these 'articles' are written by some climb rag employee trying to hold down a job writing about the same ole shit month after month puts their revelance into question. it was probably written by the same poor bastard that has to come up w/ that ridiculous 'what's hot & what's not' bullshit. do you guys take the VH1 'most classic whatever-the-fuck of all time' lists this seriously? i think not.

What good is a ranking if they eliminate obvious towns? How would the obvious towns be ranked against each other? Stupid.
The theory of evolution is just as stupid as the theories of gravity and electromagnetism.
