I think the best response is to boycott this website, and if we lose the chance to climb in Muir or Matt and Amy are financially burdened anymore than they already are, it is due to this website.
Nope, you won't see some dumbass say that, because you won't be back on here, remember? And if you reply to this or any other dumbass' post, you lose at your own game. Sucks.
Don't try to lay blame on this website. Ray and Michelle have given more of their time and money to the community through this site and other means than you can imagine. I would be ashamed to have even attempted to point the finger at such a selfless couple. But by all means, boycott away.

I always try and stay out of the perpetual Muir Valley vs the rest of the world incidents since as far as I know I have no dog in those fights. I also do not plan on weighing in on the guiding issue in the other threads as it seems to be a personal/business issue I consider mostly unrelated to Muir Valley and really none of my business.
Those disclaimers aside, just for the sake of clarification was this an idle threat while spirits were stirred or is climbing seriously at risk in Muir Valley? If it is at risk, can we please have some clarification as to why it's threatened and what risks we should attempt to mitigate in the future?
Rick and Liz and Charlie and whoever, I am practically begging you not to have this conversation here. If R and L feel the need to share their plans regarding the valley with a few people in the community, plan to meet and discuss in person. The pitfalls of any discussion in here that is this close to th heart are obvious as history will attest. For example if you were going to discuss this, would you invite the trolls?
You want to discuss to help make plans or discuss plans already made. You don't want the discussion to make the plans.

As usual, a very valid point. Although it seems this is the venue of choice for policy announcements it is less than desirable as I think some people understand.
The Project Manager in me is just looking for some clarification of what's gone wrong or at least some lessons learned for all of us but there are perhaps better ways.....
Where is the actual donation box on-site? After a long episode of hashing out identity theft with my CC company last year, I'm trying to limit the on-line stuff. I'd certainly like to drop some cash in the box. Friend told me about Muir a few years ago and been climbing in it all this time without knowing the specifics of ownership/etc until finding this forum a couple of months ago. Rick was even nice enough to give the g/f and I a rappelling lesson last weekend (which I made good use of the rest of the day, BTW... thanks, Rick!). We are likely going back this coming weekend and I'd like to catch up on some of my MV back taxes.
on the post next to the main trail heading straight down the hill at the edge of the parking lot to the right of ricks barn. you can miss it it says "Donations"
