If we listen to any of the bullshit they say, and give it any degree of our energy, then we are stupid.

Theres not yet been an election that mattered, whether you believe it or not. Its a big money game. They let you vote so you think you have a stake in it.

Stupid.

512 This is a big subject. Impossible to cover given time restrictions. I can fire back in response to Crankmas' derogatory reference to Carter.

The Carter years were good. They made a difference. Had we continued on that political trajectory we would have been more fit to tackle the energy crisis. This kinder America would likely not have engaged in the Iraq war. If we stop responding to political leaders we can completely give up on democracy.

Or in this case, his re-write of history. For in Caribe's remembrance of the Carter years, high unemployment, gas lines, 18% home mortgage rates, stagflation, and the humiliation of the superpower U.S. by a ragtag group of Iranian islamists will disappear down the memory hole.

Or just maybe, from Caribe's perspective, that is exactly why the Carter years were so good.

as opposed to todays regime, experts at rewriting history by the way, rising unemployment rising energy prices and there solution is to dig for oil and natural gas in areas where is may or may not exist and will not make any dent on the domestic oil supply until 2030, inflation a weakening dollar increased tax breaks to the super wealthy and huge corporations exposing CIA agents because you disagree with their spouses politics, convincing the country that Iraq had weapons of mass destruction, and the humiliation of the superpower U.S. by by a ragtag group of Iraqi Islamists just for starters. Jimmy Carter sought to make the US independent of foreign oil as opposed to holding hands with the Saudi princes. those same Saudi princes who deny women rights and have more links to the 911 terrorists than Hussein ever did.
