This is Kentucky. The off season for climbing starts around mid-June and ends around Sept. unless of course you like bugs, heat, humidity, snakes or have really nothing else in your life.

Seasons are for roadtrippers. I did 57 new-to-me routes in that period last year, 13 of them 12a or above. I only remember one day last year that was "too" hot and humid.

Besides Charlie, theres no bouldering in KY. Everybody knows that.

i agree with OW.... there is no off season for REAL climbers...summer is the time to go up all the crappy, easy trad lines at the Red and pad your tick list. come to think of it, that'd be about every trad line here...surely you "seasonal" climbers don't do trad during the REAL climbing weather......do you?

Heh, tell me about it.

Trips planned, I will climb this summer don't you worry your pretty little head about that.

Kentucky totally has an off season though, and I think we're almost there. Bikes, Volleyball, Whitewater, Festivals, trips to the west.....all right on the horizon.

Trips to the West... yes.

Lander in July. SLC in August.

I ain't no dummy.

And yes, Piggie, trad in the Red is crap. Climbing it prepares you for the Kipp Trummel choss fests awaiting you at *insert crag name here*.
