yeah, actually i'm with you toad...i think everyone should just shut the fuck up and at least hear what the FS has to say. i know i've screwed up bolts with a hand drill and i'm pretty much perfect...i'd hate to see what mere mortals would do.

Drill a pilot hole first. Then finish with the desired size bit. Helps prevent slop. Works well in concrete. Don't know how that translates to sandstone.

I have not read all the posts contained in this thread, please give me a by if what I have to say is redundant. I feel that all gear left in the rock is “abandoned gearâ€

Bob, there is no way bolts will be held to this theoretical level of circumspection by anyone. This is why folks like team suck step up. The stability of the sport relies on some level of reappraisal and maintenance. I am sure you can appreciate that.
