I sure hope you know the people you are calling racist. your remarks are as "racist" about white people as you claim theirs are about black people. why the chip on your shoulder about race? seems to me YOU need the therapy, not those who believed what the glorified liberal media (YOUR media, alan) was feeding us. fact is, new orleans has one of the highest murder rates in the US, and it is predominately black. don't cover up the reality when trying to shoot people you like to harass. it gets old when people play the race card from either angle. you, my friend are just as guilty as the whitey tighties.

New Orleans has been in contention for Murder Capital for as long as I can remember. They were up against D.C., Baltimore, Detroit, and L.A. year after year. What are the similarities? They all experienced extreme and pronounced white flight at a point in time when all the wealth was controlled by whites leaving poor inner cities. New Orleans is the perfect example of why vouchers will never work. The private school system is dominated by whites and reservations are made at birth for the best schools. What good are vouchers when all slots are filled by wealth(ier) white kids? When the wealth moved to the suburbs in these places (the suburbs to New Orleans are separate cities: Metarie, Slidell, and Gretna amongst others) the tax base moved as well meaning the public schools in N.O. were running at a tenth of the budget of the surrounding school districts. "You can't solve the problem by throwing money at it" is a common cry of the right but you can't solve the problem by underfunding it either. We could go on with illegal gun sales rates, importation of hard drugs, gang activity, and on and on. I'd still rather be in New Orleans after the shit hits the fan than fucking Detroit or Baltimore.

I am sitting here getting drunk off my ass after spending the last 3 days helping my grandparents gut their house that they just remodeled Oct last year. 18 inches of water just one block from dry land in the great Cresent City.

The smell down there is worse than anything I have ever smelled. Rotten ass smell hits you as soon as you reach the city. It's also creepy as hell to drive through miles and miles of homes literally destroyed - lives destroyed - dreams . . .

It was actually a relief to get back to Biloxi today!

Katrina fucking sucks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ok, now back to my Gin and Tonic!

My old drummer is working in N.O. right now. He said every day he wants to cry it's so bad. I've got a feeling if any of you walked out of your house to see your entire world destroyed and then after three or four days you saw no sign of aid or rescue you too might start taking what you needed if you could find it. What difference does it make since most of the food, televisions, etc. would probably just end up getting bulldozed in the end?
"You stole that from my building!"
"But you just had your building scooped into a dumptruck."
"So what, you looter?"

For those skeptics who think CO2 is not a problem. You just have to look at our neighbor to see the effects of a high CO2 concentration in the atmosphere.

"And although Venus reflects about 80 percent of the Sun’s radiation – Earth soaks up more – you can forget having an 80-degree day. Venus’ atmosphere is about 95 percent carbon dioxide, which traps heat from the sun so efficiently that surface temperatures average more than 860 degrees Fahrenheit. That makes Venus hotter than Mercury, even though it’s twice as far from the sun and receives only 25 percent of the solar radiance."

That explains what happened to all the probes Russia sent to Venus. POOF

If FNC wasn't so pathetic, that page would be even funnier! I saw O'Reilly on The Daily Show - all I could think about was the fall of Sen. McCarthy and I was hoping that he would be asked about "Good Night and Good Luck" (prank call with a vibrator, anyone?)

Alan's description of what happened in NO reminded me of what happened to East St. Louis (former per capita murder capitol). I could go on a whole rant....
