Republican/Democrat, they're all the same. They're either in bed with big corporations or big labor. One things for damn sure that they're not in bed with you or me. If you believe that they(REpubs/Demos) have your best interest in mind you're a sucker! They, the ruling class, are so disenfranchised from the man on the street to the effect we are like ghosts in their world and have no effect on them.
Larry has this PollyAnna view of the electorate and believes that it'll come back the othere way. Caribe believes that if we trudge on in the direction we're going that it'll pay off in the end. The way I see it is that if you buy into the great Amerikan dream, You'll toil your life away and get to retire right before you die. Its all bullshit. You are either a slave to big g'ment or big bid'ness.
I've always said,"The only way NOT to lose a game you can't win is DON'T PLAY!"
The BIG QUESTION
No, the direction that we are going is no good. Your best investment is taxes if you are making less than 200k. These need to go to roads, schools, parks, etc.Clevis Hitch wrote:Caribe believes that if we trudge on in the direction we're going that it'll pay off in the end.
On some level I agree. Don't Pigsteak's previous posts translate to "play less?" Think about what Pigsteak said a few posts back. He has chosen a house that he can more than afford. I has chosen a lifestyle that affords him time to live and have fun. I have done the exact same thing. These choices will leave one less vulnerable to downturns. If one is living large and living from check-to-check, at the first adverse financial occurrence the house of cards falls.Clevis Hitch wrote:I've always said,"The only way NOT to lose a game you can't win is DON'T PLAY!"
I think that you are forward thinking in the notion that you need to downsize and get mobile. Where we part ways in terms of logistics is your apocalyptic perspective.

The apocalypse perspective comes from my "feelings" of being out of control. I have no confidence in what the future looks like. For you guys who sit in school, you'll always have a job. Me, I gotta compete with the lowest bidder. Right now, the bidding is on the floor. I went from $500 a day $4 a foot to $100 a day and $1 a foot. You think thats not that bad but theres alot of uncompensated work that goes into it. I'm enough of a hustler that I can thrive even at these "third world" wages. I just have to eliminate debt and seriously reduce day to day costs.caribe wrote:I think that you are forward thinking in the notion that you need to downsize and get mobile.
