"Rarely in business do you ever get enough facts to make a decision that's got a factual basis. It's usually a minute or a mile short. Neither of them make any difference, just that it means [the solution is] not obvious. Well, if it's not obvious and you can't find it factually, you've got to find it someplace—you've got to find it in the air, ...you've got to hear it, you've got to find it in a way that makes sense to you. The process of doing that, for me at least, is filled with creative conflict."

Creative conflict can be "noisy," he said. "I think you have to pull barriers down to get at what people really think." Although some people don't like that kind of frank give-and-take atmosphere, "it's totally fair," he said. "We have a rule that there is no stupid idea—even though we may say, 'This idea is the dumbest thing we ever heard.' Nothing you say, no matter how stupid it is, is stupid. That leap of illogic is vital to the process."

I'm not trying to be mean, but to be perfectly frank, I thought it would be a very good thing for the RRGCC if Gretchen had stepped down. Then I heard she had not - that she was BSing. I resent being lied to, and I also feel very strongly that the RRGCC should address the problems within the organization so that it can attract more people who want to work for the common good. I'm not trying to prove anything, just trying to force the coalition to take an honest look at itself by asking these questions publically. Like it or not, that's it.

If you reply to me and I don't answer after this, it's not because I'm being evasive, but because I won't be back on-line until Monday or Tuesday. Have a great weekend - it's gonna be beautiful!

(So who hijacked The Lurkist's account??)

I am not going to find fault with Gretchen.I think she did good for years and no one appreciates it.That same kind of thing ticks me off too. Critcizing people or
the coalition here just isn't in me.Where would you all be climbing ,without the past efforts off the coalition? In a hot dusty gym. It's time to let this stuff die.
