By the way, calling the EPA these days is sort of like calling an empty building. They're so busy giving away our public land to big money they're not about to worry about some hayseed farmer in Appalachia. Those people have been reaming Kentuckians for over 100 years and they're not about to stop now. Don't think they can't afford armed guards and attack dogs to add to the gates.

About 20 years ago they tried to strip mine B Rock down at the southern end of the D Boone Nat'l Forest. I think the outcry was so great the guvment was forced to buy the miners off for some ludicrously high amount of money (like the value of the coal without counting the cost of extracting it). I'm not positive about that because I was living in New Orleans at the time. I just remember my uncle and dad talking about it.

Ever heard of "mountaintop removal" mining? If there was a coal seam under the Murray's land that whole area would be as flat as Kansas by now. That area doesn't see anywhere near the number of visitors that B Rock does. Unfortunately our Congresspeople here in KY are goosestepping right wingers that believe the rapture is coming at any moment and until it gets here we should grind the earth into gravel.

I'm guessing the oil people have had some equipment damaged/blocked and/or were threatened by climbers or 4 wheelers so they decided to block their roads. The question is, if new roads are built by the owner(s) would those be blocked as well? I think the answer is no but I'm not sure.

Sorry about spraying my socio-political views. I guess my main point is they've got enough money to crush us all like insignificant little bugs. Easier than those fucking ladybugs! What the hell is up with those things?!? I think it's a conspiracy to make people stay inside more... oh my god! They're in the house!!! They're in the house!!!!!!

I tolerate spiders,wasps and woodbees ,but those friggin ladybugs fall in love with vynil siding. I'm overun with them every afternoon. and they bite.

My last g/friend lived out in the country and had vinyl siding under her eaves. She had thousands of those things crawling all over her house and they found a way inside which was worse.

And the goddamned things BITE!!! What the hell is up with that? I heard rumor they were brought in by the Game Commission or something like that for wild turkeys to eat. I've also heard that they're from China. Ten to one turkeys hate the damned things. The USDA imported kudzu, btw. It was in 1932 and it was meant to be cattle feed (only goats and water buffalo will eat that crap) and I've got proof! I have mimeographed instructions on how to plant it.

Ummm...
...and this only goes for KY...I don't know about the rest of the states...but kudzu was used in KY to stop erosion around railroads...that's why you'll only see it near a RR...well so maybe it's spread a lot further...
