In response to HFs ? about what the RRGCC has tried to do with new route approvals.
Last winter the Climbing Advisory Council (CAC) took up the whole new route thing. The FS gave the Coalition the ability to do a blanket route submission packet. This was done to try and speed up the process since the FS, specifically the Stanton Ranger District, is overworked and underfunded. So for a few months people submitted new routes (some routes had been done, others were seeking approval). The CAC organized the paperwork, 'approved' many routes, and passed it on to the Stanton RD in a timely manner. There is sits caught up in the beuracratic bull that is the YOUR US Forest Service. The system is broke and the RRGCC is trying to help fix it. Right now the folks in Winchester are working on a new management plan. By working with the FS and giving them lots of input at their public meetings (another round set to go down early next spring) we can hope to see some changes.
So I don't know if that answers any of your questions, but the RRGCC (specifically the CAC) tried to speed up the route approaval process. Ran into a bump in the road (the FS making the forest management plan a top priority). And seem to be back to square one for now. In the future I think many would like to see the whole process streamlined. Routes at exsisting crags should be easier and ultimately get new crags approved for development.

Ray: I apologize for reacting too soon!
Upon re-reading your post and discussion, I see where you were going with it.
Personally I agree with Lynne, it is time to drop this issue.
You have done a WONDERFUL job with the guide. We still differ on issues but I certainly can live with that. All of your efforts are certainly recognized as very useful and a major contribution & KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK

Just genuinely disengenuous.
Thanks.
I'm about halfway done as far as entering route information goes. Still need to do some user interface work too.
I'm still looking for pictures to so send them my way!
Thanks to everyone for what they've sent so far. Snyder sent some cool sport climbing shots from "the day".
My digital camera is getting worked.
