Interesting link, I hadn't heard of it.
I would point out, however, that the letter attempted to outline why this would be a 'just war'. Of course, their assumptions were incorrect, but that seems to be more a matter of delusion and ignorance, rather than violent intent. So, even though it was signed by Christians, they weren't making the argument to go to war for religious reasons.

see where Hawaii senate voted to eliminate prayer during senate gatherings, but 9 hawaiian state representives still walked onto the floor and held hands and prayed. 8 of the 9 were democrats.

"You have heard that it was said to the people long ago,"do not murder." and anyone who murders will be subject to judgement. But I tell you that anyone who is angry with his brother will be subject to judgement. Again, anyone who says to his brother "RACCA" (idiot!) is answerable to the Sanhedrin (Religious judges) but anyone who says "You Fool!" will be in danger of the fire of hell.
Thats what the Christ said. As far as Bush or Condi or who ever is concerned. Christians don't follow politicians. Politicians claim to be Christian to get Christians to vote for them.(Thats a foul) Then theydo as they please. Christians by their very nature(which is to say the inherant nature of being a Christian not the inherant nature of being human) abstain from the entanglements of this world. They hold their nose when they vote like they are taking bad medicine.
Another quirky thing that I have observed about Christian bashers and religion haters. The people that hate it the most, typically have some moral indiscretion in their past that they seek to nulify.

It's called 'Cognitive Dissonance' Christian's do it all the time when they preach love the sinner not the sin. It how you can come up with the term Holy War.
Oh and all wars in our recent past were about MONEY and POWER - god and religion were just a pawns

the funny thing that I've noticed about this rhetoric is the differencw between what is said and what is done. "Religion" will be the final chapter in man's search for answers. A relationship will be the begining.

i can't think of a single thing i've done in my life deserving of hell. there's nothing i've done that needs to be forgiven. i'm not a 'sinful' person just because i don't believe in jesus.Clevis Hitch wrote:

according to christians and the bible, i deserve hell, eternal punishment and damnation for the few lies i told when i was a child. i need to beg jesus for forgiveness so my soul will come clean. i'm an evil person going to hell along with 75% of the rest of the world's population that doesn't believe that jesus was the son of god. i find it offensive and irrational when christians tell me i deserve to burn in hell for a few misdeeds. i find religion dangerous because of it's ability to be used to manipulate masses of people. i hate religion because it exhibits no reason... not because i'm a bad person.
