I think the first 8,9,10,etc is more badass. Because its the first. Because its advancing. I mean, climb 5.9 and enjoy it all you want... but don't say you can't climb 5.10 trad because its so much harder than 5.10 sport. Sporties do the same shit... I heard a kid at a comp the other day ask another kid if he'd done 5.13 yet. The kid said "No, but I could do The Force in 4 goes and probably Triple Sec in 2." The truth is that the climber is lacking, not the routes are harder. Don't make excuses. If you're truly enjoying the level at which you're climbing, you don't need excuses.
