Lurk, I'm confused. I know the route you're talking about because I read your post before you edited it. I haven't been on the line but I know it went down at 13b recently. Is it really a steaming pile or is it just not your style?

My opinion of it remains. Gear better spent elsewhere.

I guess what I'm wondering is what makes you think that your opinion dictates what a good route is? I look at routes kind of like I do movies, music, and art. What one person may love another person may hate. It's nothing that can really be weighed without community consensus. I think you've been preaching that in your previous posts but saying you think a route should be removed because you don't like it is kind of contradicting what you said, isn't it?

Hey, like I have said (preached) before- Thanks for the forum for sounding my opinion. My opinion is only mine. If it resonates with someone, well then we share it.

Wow. I've been slacking.

I saw Ho at the Lode on Saturday, and he asked if I was "Da Judge". I now see why he might think that....

First off, its not me. Ha. I read the post initially, and I'm pretty suprised it generated this much banter. Frankly, I guess this board has been in need of some conflict, and this was where it manifested itself.

I should do a better job of creating conflict, so shit like this doesn't make it through.

To Matt, Piggie, Blake, Josh, Ron, Chris, Snyd, Hugh, Porter, Jared and Karla, Terry, Johnny, Kenny, all of Team Suck, and everyone else I forgot who puts in all the time and effort it takes to equip, clean and develop these routes... choss or not... thank you. You are an integral part of what makes the RRG community a scene thats envied at every climbing area worldwide.

Even crusty old traddies (with new shiny matching draws) can see that.

Now, lets talk about something productive, like how fuckin retarded bouldering is....

Oh... and on topic...

Art is subjective. The development of routes is art.

If you don't like it, move on and view something else.

Your "choss pile" could be someones first 5.10 redpoint, , or first 5.9 onsight, or first rockclimb, and they'll love it intensely for that reason.

Keep em all. We don't kill all you idiots just because you're subpar....

as is the case with all professions, some people are obviously in the wrong field. not all self-proclaimed artists are good at what they do.

True. I couldn't agree more.... but climbing choss is like loving an ugly kid... so I'm suprised it just isn't in your genes...

Must have skipped a generation.
