straw man
1 : a weak or imaginary opposition (as an argument or adversary) set up only to be easily confuted
2 : a person set up to serve as a cover for a usually questionable transaction

ad ho·mi·nem
1 : appealing to feelings or prejudices rather than intellect
2 : marked by an attack on an opponent's character rather than by an answer to the contentions made

equivocation
1 : to use equivocal language especially with intent to deceive
2 : to avoid committing oneself in what one says

So in your words, people speak before they think, without any more than basic knowledge of a subject and a personal opinion, based on raw emotion and the misplaced aggression used to attack anyone who does'nt agree with them. Interesting to say the least, thats just my observation based on the definitions of your $5.00 dollar words, I could be wrong......... :D Do you have that toilet paper with the words and definitions of it or are you really a word smyth??? :D Well done ole boy!!!!

Actually, he probably just reads Ayn Rand's non fiction and is looking for a place to spout it off.

But I could be wrong. His statement is just about directly out of the first chapter of her book 'philosophy, who needs it.'

In it, she defines each of these terms, and about how they apply to everyone but her (despite the fact that her work is full of them).

Ayn Rand caused Officer Bar Brady to give up on reading. Can't blame him, really. Atlas Shrugged is a horrible read.

Galt's endless rant at the close of of Atlas Shrugged stands as one of the most long-winded, pompous, self-stroking monologues in the history of literature.

Atlas Shrugged is one of my favorite books of all time, but I'll admit that the 50-page monologue at the end was horribly painful. I stuck it out, but damn... it could have been reduced to about 1/10 of its length and said all it needed to say.

Pretty soon it may just be pigsteak responding to himself.
