Posting this shit on the intardweb is pretty fucking discreet you morons.
This is Rock Star Thread- not Access issues with a crusty old mean SOB in OK thread. Maybe there should be a new thread-
anyway-
We are all talking in a what? A bbs. Yes, a medium for discussion.
So, we shouldn't talk about the big floating turd in the punch bowl?
We are enjoying unprecedented (and very much deserved-That is to say the Rock deserves it) attention. Yet one of our best cliffs is still closed b/c we choose to not challenge the usurpation of our right to passage to access our property? We allow ourselves to be rogered?
Granted, court battles cost money. I submit that the opponent is as adverse to conflict as we are.
There needs to be addressing of this issue. We have the right to use our property.

Has any of the pros been on the line at the gallery or the lines at the gold coast. That line at the Gallery sure is good looking.

I want to make something perfectly clear here regarding the relationship between the RRGCC and Charmane Oil. The RRGCC and Charmane Oil have negotiated and entered into a formal mediation agreement. According to that agreement any discussions or negotiations are to be held confidential. Honoring the confidentiality of the agreement, what I can say is that the two parties are talking directly, a huge step forward from the confrontation of the past.

I, for one, do not want to see our hard earned money and fundraising momentum from RocTrip/Rocktoberfest go to attorney fees and I believe a return to confrontation would be a huge mistake. Please continue to climb responsibly and realize the RRGCC does see the elephant in the room.

Thank you,

Bill Strachan, Executive Director
Red River Gorge Climbers' Coalition

Back to the thread at hand, we saw Graham and someone else up at Gold Coast on Monday scoping it out. We heard one of them say, "This wall is dope!"

I agree with Lurkist. What does "If we own it, they can't close it" really mean when we can't climb at a place like Oil Crack.
Like everyone else, I respect all the hard work the RRGCC has done, but it still erks me everytime I go to the Southern region knowing that that area is closed to climbers. I guess I'm also still bitter at Charmane for towing my buddies truck a few years back leaving us stranded there in the dark. The only upside to the event was that was my first introduction to Joe Haynes (Kentucky/crazy Joe). We called Miguels and he came and got us, flying like a madman saying he was running from a state trooper. I had to ride in the back of his old pickup surrounded by multiple automatice weapons. He drove out the other end of the southern region (through the creeks) and the gun rack broke dropping an SKS on top of me. I was terrified for my life (knowing for certain the damn thing was loaded) praying it didn't go off.
When we finally got to Miguels and he opened the back latch to let me out, he started cursing me for 'breaking' his gun rack. I'm glad he was there this weekend, I think he gave all the rockstars some good conversation.

and I was confident you are aware, and are addressing. I have full confidence in the RRGCC BOD and ED. Good job on the Roctoberfest/ Roctrip.
