why don't you bolters just put a pad lock on the first or second bolt?? its been done before and it works well.

you could plant poison oak all over a field surrounding the bottom of the cliff. leave a secret entrance for yourself, of course. 16 foot cheater sticks cant cross a 50 yard permieter.
edit: also nail a bunch of skulls and bones from animals on walls and trees so people know you mean business
