Crank - there are some very simple tests in America for whether or not someone is "black" - if you drive down the street in a nice car, do you get pulled over, yanked out of the car and frisked for nothing? When you walk down a sidewalk, do white women clutch their purses and cross the street?
By these tests, and similar ones, Obama is "black" and/or "African American."
Ohhh... In looking for some actual facts on this, I see what's up: Rush Limbaugh has been trying this crap, along with others in the right-wing swamp. Given how few Americans seem to have access to a world map, perhaps Limbaugh's statement doesn't sound nearly as stupid as it actually is. In reality, 0.16% of the population of Kenya is ethnically Arab. I guess it's possible that Barack Hussein Obama Sr. was part of that 0.16% of the population, but it's damn improbable.

But underlying all this is the right-wing fantasy that "race" has some sort of physical or genetic basis. It's critical to racism that "race" is somehow inborn or immutable. Here's how our favorite portly expert on African ethnicity and geography put it:
Crank - for the purpose of this response, I'll assume that you're as stupid as your post about Obama, Arab ethnicity and Oprah makes you sound, I'll spell this out real simple: Obama's dad is from "black Africa", Obama's dad was "black African", Obama is "black" and "African American" just like hundreds of thousands, if not millions, of other "mixed race" "black" Americans.
Now, please lay out your "top 5 Obama lies": please provide direct quotes, sourcing including date/place for quotes and an explanation, in your own words, preferably with sources, of why his statements are not true.

He just can't resist talking about "blood." You can't have racism unless you believe that "race" is somehow real. But he’s not black. Do you know he has not one shred of African-American blood? He doesn’t have any African — that’s why when they asked whether he was authentic, whether he’s down for the struggle. He’s Arab. You know, he’s from Africa. He’s from Arab parts of Africa.
