Very well the situation in Iraq is fine thank you because like the chinese in Tibet we have to protect Iraq from evil outside influences and we can't have countries being autonomous and making decisions for themselves now can we? it wouldn't be the american or communist way

Lefties don't harsh on lefties.
But, the last time we boycotted the Olympics it hurt the athletes far more than it hurt the target of the boycott. An interesting idea I've heard suggests a boycott of the opening ceremony. Dignitaries thumb their noses at the Chinese ruling class, but let the athletes compete. What do you think?

Good point, but I think the Soviet's meeting their Waterloo had more to do with the stinger missiles that the U.S. government provided to our ol' buddy (at the time) bin Laden. Speaking of which, I wonder of binny ever thinks about how much better life would be if he'd stayed tight with Uncle Sam. But no, that would have been too easy. He thought airmailing his "thank you" directly to New York was way funny.

Personally, I won't be watching any of the Summer Olympics and I will do my best to avoid the sponsors of the Games specifically because of the situation in Tibet.
As for whether we as a nation can criticize the Chinese government, it's a logical fallacy to assume that just because an individual or a nation is a hypocrite that they are wrong when it comes to a specific situation. They are right or wrong based on the facts of the issue, not based on their own reaction to the same situation. Being a hypocrite doesn't necessarily make what you say incorrect.
That being said, fuck China and their big fat rumbling economy, self serving free market reforms and lead tainted toys.
I will, however, continue to eat Chinese food. Yum.

That's an effective idea about boycotting the ceremony but allowing the athletes to compete.
