We are involved in an unpopular war that has turned into exactly what we were told it wouldn't- a quagmire where we are hopelessly embroiled and don't have any realistic hope of extracting our selves anytime soon.
Our idiot of a president has squandered all US credibility and good will that we gained in the era post WWII. We are reviled abroad.

Blaming Greenspan seems rather silly to me. Why do you think G.W. Bush, Bill Clinton, Bush Sr, Reagon, and Ford all liked greenspan??? Could it be perhaps that he was the best man for the job at the time? I can't think of many people who could've survived in that position for that long under so many different presidents if he wasn't good at it.

And if you think Rush Limbaugh has any significant sway on the electorate, you really need to get your news from a different source.
You guys are intelligent thinking people. It is time to put this past eight years of la la land jingoistic religious zealotry right wing xenophobic hater idealism behind you and join with us adults.
I would agree with you if McCain was a typical conservative nut. But he appears to be more of his own man than any republican who is remotely popular these days. Every single popular conservative figure in the media dislikes McCain. Why would this be? Perhaps because he's different than the rest of them?

so Lurk, let me tell you a bedtime story that happened just last week in Wolfe County. As I was helping a gentleman and his wife wiht some business issues, the discussion turned to politics. This gentlemen informed me that he was a life long democrat (he was in his 60's), and let me quote : "don't you think for a second a
n****** will run this country. the klan in kentucky won't stand for that"

he informed me, as a god fearing man, that women were also not allowed to lead a country, so the last choice was McCain, who now had his vote.

glad you are part of the grown up party. and his religious fervor was also preventing him from voting democratic.
Positive vibes brah...positive vibes.

o yeah, I forgot the real fun stuff...his wife told me that Obama was nothing but an A-rab, and that bin laden was funding his campaign....lol...just when I thought rednecks didn't have internet access.

shamis, you are barking up the wrong tree with lurk....he is so venomous partisan it is not funny. I came into this game as a HUGE Obama supporter, but the cracks in his ideology are getting too big to ignore.
Positive vibes brah...positive vibes.

war wrong, efforts to get out of war ineffective, economy in shabbles due to people who create trade aggreements and those who run corporations and those who support unions who enable the worthless to maintain their jobs, broken borders, schools systems that suck, state department that donates to countries like saudi arabia, idiots that reelect people named kennedy and clinton and bush, drug companies that line the pockets of doctors and rape the people who need their fucked-up drugs, greedy mother fuckers in the banking and mortgage industries, idiots that reelect people named kennedy and clinton and bush, and every cocksucker that didn't vote for ross perot is a starting point for why things are not extra rosy, personally I'm as happy as a tapeworm in rosie
