Dogs??
I dunno, after awhile I think the dogs seem to become self sufficent. I have a canvas bag for Lucky Duck's food and when he's hungry, he just digs around for it. If we are on the road and he needs to take a wiz, he starts to nudge my arm and whine.

No hassle at all. They make life fun. But I'm talking about good dogs. I have no patience for a bad dog.
When I was single, I would sleep in my truck with my tail gate open. My dog would lay, unleashed, on the ground at the tail gate on gaurd all night. Once in awhil during the nights I'd hear a low growl and knew she was always watching. I don't know what I would've done without her. She takes care of me, I take care of her.

My feeling is nature should be left undisturbed. Dogs stress the wild life. your dog was probably growling at a harmless little racoon who was scrounging for food to feed its cute little racoon babies who starved that night. Artsay this is not directed towards you: You wouldnt take a dog golfing would you? dogs would love to be on a golf course or maybe bowling it would be a thrill to see dogs chasing the balls and sliding all over.
Here's my opinion. Taking a dog to the crag is fun, but has some responsibility that goes along with it. If you can't look after your dog enough to keep it out of trouble, then I agree that the dog should be left home until properly trained. However......I LOVE to take Sam to the crag!! He loves the others dogs and attention from other people.....he's well behaved...which is why I take him EVERY time I go! He might accidently walk on your rope in passing.......but who hasn't stepped on their own rope at least once every trip? (if he could apologize, I'm sure he would!)
Religion is man's worst invention.
Climbing without Chacka, Bo, Lucky Dog, Cody?
Who would I sneak my bread crusties to?
I can't wait to have my own place and have a climbing dog.

What I love about running is you can meditate while running. It's a peaceful place.
