If i had the time and the cash i would purchase an around the world ticket traveling and working odd jobs along the way for about a year or so. this works really well if you can speak a foreign language. I have a few friends i meet from australia doing this. not to mention the irish guys i meet in berkely a few summers back who where working and traveling there way across the states. Spend a few months dirtbagging through europe, find a job for a month make a little cash move on to southeast asia and indonesia for a while, then maybe down to australia and new zeland. Across to patagonia then north until you are back home.

Screw that dude. Rent yourself a freakin' Bentley, one of the log cabins behind the Shell station, get a few bottles of Cristal, a fur coat and pimp out at the Red for a week.....doggy style.

You're going to get old and have responsibilities - take advantage of the opportunity and go to NZ/AU now! (don't forget how close you'll be to Asia - e.g. Thailand) It's much easier to travel around North America in bits and pieces later, but it's hard to get that far away. Plus, even though AU/NZ are English-speaking, Christian-dominated, Euro-centric countries largely populated by white folks like here in the US, they are still foreign countries and there's a lot to be learned from spending a good chunk of time overseas (longer than just a two week tourist visit). Either way, I'm jealous. (right now I'm just pining for about a week and a half in France this fall .... ah, du brie et du pain, et du vin apres an jour faire du grimpe .... )

That's what I do anyway, SCIN. Except for the fur coat. Mountain Hardwear doesn't make anything out of fur.

Wes: I'm not sure about Castly Hill specifically, but since we're going to be camping/hiking/etc. for a month, we've been told to be ready for sunny warm days as well as snow storms, and to bring every kind of weather's clothing.
