ditto what others have said. thin wall and trashcan rock are great for setting TRs. Thin wall has anchors for this, but trashcan you'll have to build gear/boulder anchors. Trashcan has some VERY easy stuff but you can TR some harder things at Thin Wall. Dairy Queen wall has some great stuff in the 5.7 range that you'll need some gear to set TRs for as well.
Headstone (in Ryan Campground) is great but not really for a TR with a group. Other "bolted" routes in Jtree are run out affairs that i would not consider sport routes.
the bouldering across the barker dam road from hidden valley is quite nice and there is some easier stuff there. gunsmoke is not to be missed.
Also, get on some V2s before you go for the V5 grade.

I just re-read your original post. If you're only bouldering for one day, definitely do NOT go to that remote area I mentioned. The hike is insane, its easy to get lost, and you could quite possibly ruin your whole day and/or end up lost in the desert. I think the guidebook calls it a half hour hike. They lied.
Definitely the first time I was ever scared on a climbing approach, scared that It might get dark and I'd never find my way out, and freeze at night.
I'm pretty sure we lost the trail at the end, but I seem to recall doing some 4th class climbing with pads on to get to the area (which is on top of a cliff from where we were hiking).
