I've climbed some routes down there - there's a lot of trad and some sport. I found the Dixie Cragger's atlas to be pretty difficult to use for wayfinding (I'm spoiled by the RRG Guidebook). I agree there's a lot of potential there. The walls are higher and it stays warmer longer in the fall.

It always seemed to me that there was plenty of untouched rock closer to the road, so I haven't quite seen the reason to go to all the trouble, but if it gets you psyched, go for it.

Yeah, I'll never forget the gut wrenching feeling knowing we were going to have to walk 6 miles out of there in the dark...in January...with my son asking me how much longer every five minutes. And how that feeling got worse everytime that car load of "those people" drove past us. I wouldn't have gotten in the car with them even if there was room.
That day goes in the, "Adventures With Dipsi," chapter in my book!

i was hanging at at the O&W takeout bridge waiting for my friend to run shuttle when I watched some guys comically try to figure out how to rappel off the cliffs their. It was pretty funny. That being said there did look to be some cool lines along the river but could be a bit chossy.

I climbed at the O&W wall with Jeff Noffsinger a year ago and it was really good. We were working on freeing the aid climb, Virtigo. It is a really cool wall with a lot of climbing on it.

The Dixie Cragger has some climbs in it. We also climbed at the Blue Harring area on the Kentucky side and it was good also. Mostly a lot of sport climbing.

Most the the BSF is adventure climbing. If you are willing to hike around you will find a lot of good stuff.

There used to be a partial online guide by Paul Jakus, but I don't think its up anymore.
