multi pitch points
Anything that claims that I am the 1336rd best climber in the US works for me!bentley wrote:Oh what I forgot to mention is that since apparently www.8a.nu is becoming the Rosetta Stone for climbing, especially grades, you know the part that really matters, I figured taking each pitch as its own grade is internationally accepted.

Thanks Yas. I would appreciate if you could work all that out. I'd also like half points for routes I aspire to in the future.
Actually Larry, the later ascents get more points because trad FA's never clean anything. The 2nd and 3rd go in expecting a route, then have to garden their way to the top.
I suggested FA points long ago....

Au contraire, 512OW! First ascentionists who stick to a strict 'Leave no Trace' ethic, ahem, that would be me, surely deserve massive bonus points for 'preserving the experience' for future ascentionist. These future ascentionists would receive significant penalty points (think big minus sign) if they even suggest that said route needs a good cleaning. These same future ascentionists receive even more points in the minus column if they garden, and then fail to repeat said route, which would then have to be regraded, 5.10+AG (after gardening) for instance. Only fair, don't ya think.
Of course this ups the ante considerably in the points chase, as a climber could completely wipe out years of accumulated points with even one sufficiently miserable performance.
