The #5 camalot was reasuring at the top of the second pitch before the runout slab,it was wet and gritty, made me think. Good beta Mike.I liked the whole route.
My arms are still chewed up from all the OW.
Frenchburg Overhangs
once upon a time i tried to find frenchburg overhangs. we never made it. but, we did find a different crag, though to this day i am still unsure what we cllimbed there. could someone help me out? looking out from the fortress pulloff towards the other side of the valley it was more to the right, the approach was not bad at all. the climb started on a narrow ledge. it was a pretty big crack, getting bigger towards the top, offwidthish at the top. there is a ancient hex about two thirds of the way up. then the crack thins to the point where it is mostly face climbing . this climb has crazy potential... if there was just a little less bushwhacking on the route. it might be a whole ropelength to do the crack then OW the face/thin crack to a tree way up and to the right. does anyone know what climb this is? more importantly, has anyone topped it out (pulling onto the face towards the right after the OW)? is it possible? there might be another pitch once the tree to the right has been reached. I bailed left 20ft after the OW, to a ledge overflowing with thorns with a large tree. if it is near frenchburg overhangs, some of y'all might have stumbled upon it too.
