I am actually starting to like my dogs, but, this is great news. Thanks Rick!

I even dare to say that the majority of climbers like dogs.

A dog owner.
Its not the dogs as much as the owners. I like dogs. I don't care for dogs at the crag. Some, like Dakota and Snoop, are well behaved and a joy to have around. Others are a pain in the ass.

When there is more than one dog around... theres almost inevitably trouble. If my daughter happens to be standing in the middle while your dog gets in a fight with another... both dogs will be injured without hesitation. Or worse.

I treat dogs like people. Don't repeatedly step on my rope, snarl at my daughter, or sniff my crotch, or you'll be sent away on a stretcher.

Wow has it been that long since the last dog at the crag thread. It is not hard if people aren't cool with dogs there are places to climb where there will be no dogs. If you have dogs that you always take to the crag than there are places to avoid. There is a happy medium between dogs barking, shitting and pissing people off and there not being any dogs permitted at the cliff. Now Muir Valley is a place to not take your dog as well as being a place to go if dogs piss you off to the point that you want to kick them (because if you kick my dog we are going to have a serious problem). Just figure it out. If there are 50 people at roadside don't take your dog up there and leave it off the leash because it will surely bother somebody and the other side of the coin is that if there are five people at the entire motherload don't be pissed if there are dogs running around off their leashes.

If you fuck with my dog I'll fuck you up.
No joke.
Then again I have not climbed at the gorge in well over a year.
Leashes are a good idea though.

P.S. My dog is special.

I banned my own dogs from the crags because they weren't well behaved. Ill-behaved dogs (or people for that matter) have no place hanging out in an environment where their presence can potentially cause fatal distractions, damaged gear or loss of food.

I agree with 512OW (strangely). I won't hesitate to enforce my own leash law. Of course, I am a cyclist now, and rarely climb, so you won't be able to threaten me with bodily harm at the crag for saying these things.

But if I did still climb I would be annoyed by your dogs at the crag.

I know of very few that are well behaved, though there are some.

Wow, big man odub. Maybe you can make a song about beating some helpless dogs.
