Tubby is a great coach. His preferred style of play however is BORING. If we had the same record but the scores were in the 90's-100's with lots of 3's and more full court pressure (more exciting games), I don't think people would be as mad. Defense is great but not when you can't outscore the opponent.

I am sure many UK fans are happy, but this demonstrates to the rest of the country that UK fans are a bunch of red neck clods to have one of the most esteemed coaches in the country and send him packing. I know, I know, he left, but do you think the prospect of having to deal with the moron UK fans that barely understand that there is an institution of higher education attached to their precious team had anything to do with it?
I hope he is welcomed and finds the gratitude he deserves in the Twin Cities. They are a much more sophisticated educated fan base there.

I don't think anybody's every questioned Tubby's character, and most agree that he's a great coach, but just like the CEO of a corporation, when things go stagnant you need a change of leadership.

I wish Tubby the best of luck and will welcome whoever replaces him.

I think UK should hire Bill Harrick from Cincinatti--he's been looking for a job since admitting his drinking problem.

I'll second that I think Tubby is a great guy and has always been a positive influence on his players, but something tells me it's time for a change when I start falling asleep during UK games. The way I see it, if Tubby stuck around, the recruiting would just get worse and worse. I know if I was an elite high school all american, the last team I would want to play for is a team that plays a slow paced grind'em down style of basketball.

One day, Rick and Tubby decided to get together and play a round of 18 holes. Later in the round, the two finally reach the 14th hole. Tubby taps in his putt and suddenly, without hesitation, grabs his ball, bag, and begins to walk back to the clubhouse.

A seven-year-old boy was at the center of a Lexington, Ky. courtroom
drama yesterday when he challenged a court ruling over who should have
custody of him.

The boy has a history of being beaten by his parents and the judge
initially awarded custody to his aunt, in keeping with child custody
law and regulations requiring that family unity be maintained to the
degree possible. The boy surprised the court when he proclaimed that
his aunt beat him more than his parents and he adamantly refused to live
with her. When the judge then suggested that he live with his grandparents,
the boy cried out that they also beat him.

After considering the remainder of the immediate family and learning
that domestic violence was apparently a way of life among them,
the judge took the unprecedented step of allowing the boy to propose who
should have custody of him.

After two recesses to check legal references and confer with child
welfare officials, the judge granted temporary custody to the Kentucky
Wildcat Basketball team, whom the boy firmly believes are not capable of
beating anyone.
