At least you were graceful enough not to mention the lack of intelligence. Ad hominem is a piss poor argument, but it is hard not to remark on it. It's like looking at the Grand Canyon, breathtaking in its immensity.

[quote="rhunt" I want an actual impeachment of the two(Bush and Chaney), where they are both thrown out of office(and in jail) before the end of 2007.[/quote]
my bad rhunt..there for a second I thought you had already tried and convicted them. I didn't ralize you merely wanted an impartial hearing to find out the facts. You sounded like only complete idiots could believe that there might not be a single shred of evidence against the two worthy of impeachment. I find it laughable that you and alan have it all figured out, but your beloved democrats will not find enough evidence to bring forth hearings. sounds like those bums you just elected will be as bad as their former colleagues....could it be, gasp, that the dem's know that impeachment proceedings would hurt their chances for the white house in two years? and therefore, they prefer to close their eyes, and use the politics, instead of searching for the truth? naw, dems would never stoop to that..i don't think.
anyone want to take the bet...$100 says the current crop of dem's don't have the sack to bring up impeachment hearings. if only because it hurts their political careers. let's say $100 to the coalition for the loser. you chicken?
now if these impeachment proceedings don't arise, I assume rhunt and alan will also be calling for all the current democrats to be booted from office when their terms expire. didn't you just promise me rhunt, that it will be different this time around...cough...cough...I wait and hold my breath.

Clinton's impeachment was stupid, bogus bullshit. Bush and Cheney are actual crooks, liers, and thieves. Cheney is making bank off this never ending war (his shares in Haliburton are in trust but he still owns them). That's treason, in my honest opinion.

now of course it depends on your timeline, but do a quick search and you'll find cheney needs better financial advice if he is trying to get rich off of haliburton stock. when he took office in Jan 2000, haliburton stock was at 23.10. yesterday it traded at 32.87. a 50% return in 6 years is not even keeping up with the S&P, which has an annualzed return of a bit over 10%. wanna change your stance on him getting "rich" and profiteering off THAT stock, mr. astute observer?
hell, he could have bought GOOG just a year ago as it went from $100 to $500..but since they don't make war gear, would you have been pissed if he made thst profit?
or at least give me another spin dude. here'I'll help you out....his halibutron stock tanked from $23 to $5 when he first took office, losing him millions. he knew he needed to buy a gift for his lesbian daughters baby in a few years, so he decided a war with Iraq was his best option...voila...the stock ran from $5 to over $32 during this illegal and immoral war, and Cheney is a war criminal.
see, give a few facts in the middle of your frothing at the mouth, and it becomes palatable.

Pigsteak:
I think you are missing the issue brought up at the beginning of the forum.
Can you actually argue that the billions of unaccounted money handed over to halliburton and others has really been handled efficiently because of the "silent hand" of the market?
The privatization in these cases don't work because there is no free market. They get no bid contracts with no accountability.
Trust it or not, Krugman (NY Times) had some pretty interesting statistics about our friends the private contractors.
That said, I think you're right. The Dems won't have the balls to really stick it to the criminals that need it.
Cheney isn't after money (I agree with you there). . . just unfettered power. He is still trapped in a cold war mentality where we spend big bucks on expensive weapons systems with expensive contracts for defense contractors with no bid contracts ( .. .see a pattern here) to fight a conventional war on the plains of Russia and Germany.
They still don't get it.
They have fired over 40 army arabic interpreters over the last few years for being gay and are still scrambling to find people that speak arabic.
Talk about pre- 9/11 thinking. The guy is a fossil and needs to be locked up on his ranch so he can't run this war any further into the ground.
It's a bit scarier than just money. Thankfully, the ice is breaking up.

Oh, here is the Krugman. If you don't like the NY Times, just hold your nose and read the article. It won't take you long, but it worth commenting on if you really want to have this conversation.

Oh, and here is the bit about the arabic linguists:
In the past two years, the Department of Defense has discharged 37 linguists from the Defense Language Institute for being gay. Like Glover, many studied Arabic. At a time of heightened need for intelligence specialists, 37 linguists were rendered useless because of their homosexuality.

climb boy, excellent posts, and thank you for taking the emotional snap out of it.
first, I 100% agree..cheney wants power, not money. he could make way more money as a private citizen, but at some point controlling the lives of millions is more of an orgasm than cash.
the gay translaters..now in fairness here, that is a policy implemented under Clinton. so why are the libs not screaming that Clinton ruined it? it is a stupid and outdated notion about gays, but we all know the military works because of its rules and chain of command. it will take awhile for thes things to be changed. i hope it does.
krugman's article only pointed to one contractor...did I miss the link to cheney getting rich that Alan alluded to? of course I think the waste is incredible and it pisses me off. I just get riled when people blame W or Cheney when they know full well that these things have hundreds of hands involved, and that the rules have been in place for decades. it is not a liberal or conservative issue..it is a wasteful spending issue...all should be held accountable. every war we have these issues...remember the hammers and toilet seats of the first gulf war?
has it been handled efficiently? of course not. and that is my point..this is a widespread epidemic of waste, and not something where cheney is sitting back rolling in the G's. I challenge one person who has asserted that cheney has illegally made millions off of this war to prove it. it just isn't true....
contractors..yes...cheney...no.
