First of all, hot tubs do not use chlorine, they use bromine.

We monitor our hot tub very closely because we like to get in it. We dump our hot tub out at least once a week depending on its use. If we have scuzz bags with possible signs of the plague, we do not permit use. We also post hot tub rules.

But you are correct. If the rental company does not monitor their hot tub closely, they do get very nasty. Check the ring around the hot tub at the water level. The smell is a dead give away. Lots of bubbles mean that people are getting in with their clothes on. The laundry soap will come out of the clothes and make a bubble bath. Get in with a bathing suit or birthday suit. Shower before and after getting in the hot tub.

not to be a stickler, but you can use either chlorine or bromine. i have one on my back porch and we use chlorine.

but if torrent falls is draining it once a week or even once a month, you can bet that it's gonna be in great shape... 8)

and, by all means, leave the bathing suit at home....

even knowing what to look for, i still think i'll keep out from now on. glad that the torrent hot tub is on the up-and-up!
