so we can put it on our heads afterwards. The NFS is testing mind control against climbers.

6 years. When was the last time you were there on a crowded weekend piggie. I think it is worse now. I don't want it to be I just feel a sea change.

i was there this weekend man..and i agree...miguel's can be the best or worse place in the Red....i avoid it like the plague right now.
i partially balme miguel for not enforcing the rules, if there are any. I am glad the "all dogs on a leash" postings went up.
but, people should see big red posters that say..
no illegal drugs
no alcohol consumption here
pay your camping fee, chump (everytime)
no spraying

man it sucks that it happened that way. i think a big portion of the craziness right now is spring break. kids from college letting some steam out. im not saying its right but its happening all over the coast, in the mountains and at the red right now. the scene down there during the week or on slow weekends is a great community. a lot of these kids are living the life a lot of us dream of. climb, work a little and the biggest problem of the day is how you’re going to waste it. i agree with what a few people have said. its not really different behavior from the past, just more of it. if things get out of line someone needs to be there to speak up but there is a right way to do that as well. maybe i was brought up different than some. common courtesy was demanded in our house. whether you liked the person or not you showed them respect. as a kid getting out and partying was a normal way to spend the weekend. but we didnt get too loud, we respected the rules of the place we were staying at and made an effort not to bother others. miguels is the best place to stay in the country as far as climbing campgrounds go. without him the red would not be what it is today. with growth there will be growing pains we just have to figure out how to make them hurt less.

Dear RRO
I agree with you I will do my part. I resolve to be softer in my approach to pointing out the rules to people.

christian, man dont take what i said wrong. sounds like things went bad a few ways. when things like that happen people need to speak up. im sure miguel would be thankful. of course minus the wine bottle next time

RRO is right. Miguel doesn't want the necessity of putting up signs. He wants people to respect him and others by refraining from doing stupid things. But we climbers (I'm including me in this) do very stupid things for unknown reasons. Christian, If you ever need backup, I'm soo your girl

HAHAHAHA, wasn't it you who yelled at those college students in from lexington that one night last Spring? Haha, the kid had his car backed up to the front of Miguels with the trunk open and his "badass" subs thumping then i got paid 5 bucks to slam the trunk shut and you went in and yelled like hardcore at them and they came back ten minutes later apologizing? Ahhhh, how rad you are Sandy.
