When you see a fire ring anywhere at a cliff bust it up, with the fire out of course, and pitch the rocks wayyy out into the forest.

Right, Jeff! Been there; done that!

Why can't people just follow the rules? If I could have my Grandma back for a few days, I'd turn her loose in the Red, and she'd straighten their arsses up! :shock:

(I didn't say a cuss, Grandma!)

At least part of the problem is that people have different ideas of what abuse is. One might point out that the evidence of that fire could well be erased in less than 10 years if left alone, but those bolts in the rock will be in evidence for another 10,000 years.

From the DBNF Guidelines for low Impact climbing

"Fire rings and pits at the base of any cliff are unacceptable. Campfires contaminate cultural resource sites, making carbon-14 dating inaccurate."
