neuroshock, When you start seeing the white threads is a core shot. I still climb on my ropes for a bit after that, but most people don't. Flat spots and spots where the rope has lost it's twist are also key signs of wear.
Crashpad foam, about every 2.5 years or so.

Shoes: about 5 pair of shoes a year
Rope:1-2 a year
Draws: Still on my first pair so about two years and counting
harness: just got my second so about 2.5 years
chalk: a block a week maybe
brushes: seems like one a month!

Rope: when it is worn out
draws: still using metolius drws from 2001
chalk:metolius chalk 1/4 lb every f5=6 weeks
shoes: resoles every year(3 pair)
runners(trad):every 2 to 3 years
Harness:my metolius from 2001 is still wearing very well
tape(anklle):roll of metolius every month
condoms:2 a night dozen on weekends

Shoes: 1 Pair every 2 years, seriously
Rope: 1 every 3 years...use everyone elses
Draws: keep renewing them at the Lode
Chalk:use everyone elses
Car every 300,000 miles
Skin:every 3 months

it varies depending on how much I climb in a year. I replace when it's wore out.
