i think some people just have an unnatural tendency to get hassled by cops. alan is apparently one of those. so am i. i know several cops personally that seem pretty cool, but every one that i've had to deal with on strictly a "professional" business have been dickwads. latest example a few years ago - i was the only person who stopped and tried to help these two kids who just had a terrible accident. i was recounting my story and kept getting hassled because the officer in charge didn't buy my story. acutally i lied, the most recent example was a couple years ago when i rolled my truck - cop who picked me up wouldn't move his stuff in the front seat, nor let me ride in the back. the roads were completely iced over and he had already had a small wreck on his way over to pick me up off the side of the road. i had to ride perched up on the very edge of the front seat, head against the windshield, without a seatbelt. very caring. anyway, for all of my bitching about cops, i do believe that a lot of them are pretty cool, but the certain bad ones ruin it for everyone. plus, they're in a position where you can't really do much of anything when you're getting hassled.

KD, the first two I cant argue with, for whatever reason this is accepted. #2 is common sense, cops are cops 24 hours a day, on duty or not. Lastly, how many cops you know getting all these other benifits??? My cousin is in Cincinnati Swat, maybe you can hook him up with a plush set up like this, he just keeps getting shot at here in the "hood" as alan calls it, by the oppressed minorities.

Y'all are missing the bottom line:
Cops are the only thing that keeps this country from descending into total chaos. Yes, cops help and investigate when there is an accident, etc...
But the fact remains: it doesn't matter if they are nice. Their job is to enforce the law.
Without cops, crime would skyrocket and the only thing protecting you would be your on ability to defend yourself.

I'll jump in. From personal bias I'd say little dick pricks are drawn toward law enforcement, but that doesn't mean they're all pricks. I think because they have been trained to handle situations in a certain way (authoritatively), they come off as all being pricks. I'll just say I'm glad they are there, pricks or no pricks (figuratively speaking).
