i went swimming tonight for the 1st time in a long time. i used to think swimming was cool, but after tonight i think it sucks. i just can't see myself ever getting any better than what i did tonight, which was one 25m lap before running out of air. i did this for about 30 minutes before i got bored. what pisses me off is that it wasn't physically difficult at all, but i just can't get a good enough breath to swim long enough to get tired. perhaps i'm lacking technique, or am just naturally terrible.

i did! it didn't help with suffocating though. you see, the snorkel was sticking out of my butt because i had gas tonight. i wanted a way to relieve the pressure buildup. i guess that explains why people were calling me tugboat.

I can't believe you didn't think to Complete The Circle. I'm disappointed. Any experienced novice swimmer knows about this move-- you can buy an extra long snorkel that will stick out of your butt but still reach around to go inside your mouth so that you aren't left gasping for air. The people around you will appreciate it too because they won't have to suffer the spoils of your flatulence.

I swam on swim teams for 10 years growing up. I still remember how to do the moves, but my body just tires out more quickly.
Actually, if anyone is interested, there is a "Masters" swim team at the Blue Ash Y I've been working up the gumption to join. I guess its for former swim team members and just any adults that want to train in the pool. I've always found it helps to have a team to do things like that with.
