that's cuz he probably worked it at least 2 dozen times and had it wired. That's exactly what I hate about bouldering: how beta dependent problems can be.Yasmeen wrote:Did you notice how he never second guessed a foot placement?? I mean really, wherever that foot landed, he was gonna use it. I wish I had that kind of commitment when it came to bouldering. Thanks for the inspiration, Ray! Some day...
Super sick amazing man sends insane boulder problem!
And that's what I love about boulderering: Working a problem so hard, getting frustrated and perhaps, even swearing a bit. And then, maybe from a friend or from your own wacked-out mind, coming up with the missing move that makes it go; sending & feeling the sweet internal victory from your hard work.Sandy wrote:That's exactly what I hate about bouldering: how beta dependent problems can be.
well, dang, when you put it that way, it sounds so much better! Honestly, I love figuring out problems myself. The satisfaction can't be beat. I hate beta with a passion (unless it's Spragwa's), and it has been my experience that bouldering and beta go hand-in-hand.skychick wrote:And that's what I love about boulderering: Working a problem so hard, getting frustrated and perhaps, even swearing a bit. I know that you believe that you understood what you think I said, but I am not sure you realize that what you heard is not what I meant.

A computer once beat me at chess, but it was no match for me at kick boxing.
