that's cuz he probably worked it at least 2 dozen times and had it wired. That's exactly what I hate about bouldering: how beta dependent problems can be.

And that's what I love about boulderering: Working a problem so hard, getting frustrated and perhaps, even swearing a bit. And then, maybe from a friend or from your own wacked-out mind, coming up with the missing move that makes it go; sending & feeling the sweet internal victory from your hard work.

well, dang, when you put it that way, it sounds so much better! Honestly, I love figuring out problems myself. The satisfaction can't be beat. I hate beta with a passion (unless it's Spragwa's), and it has been my experience that bouldering and beta go hand-in-hand.

oh, and cheerleading. I hate that, too, and there seems to be a lot of that in bouldering. Just not my thing I guess.

man, i was so entrance by that experience that i actually found myself yelling at the computer, "com'on man! get your feet back on the wall, you can do it!!"

I was wishing that ledge would break. And when someone said "match up on that" priceless. Its like the star wars kid of the climbing world.
