i think people should put a leash on their opinions, especially poorly trained ones that are distracting to the purpose of the thread.

I can't think of anything good coming from bringing fireworks to the crag...

Um, explosions? Seriously, who doesn't like a nice big explosion every once in a while?

It is amazing how anal people are about dogs at the crags. You really take yourself so seriously that playing dogs distract your climbing. I could say the same about a crying baby or someone spraying (way more distracting to me than a dog or a baby). But as long as people have been climbing in the red they have had dogs with them. Just ask Porter about Pooch and Pepe.

Right on McRib! I'm much happier to see trained dogs. The dogs at the crag are generally more well-trained than the humans.

Artsay, I feel your pain. At Rocktown last New Year's Spencer threw fireworks into the fire around midnight. Dakota, who hates fire and was lurking outside the firelight, took off like a bat out of hell. I was so worried. My ankle was sprained so I couldn't run off looking for her and it was the middle of the night. Fortunately, she ran to my friend Scott's truck b/c she sees the truck as a safe place. Thank God. I'd be lost without her.

Speaking of Porter, Pooche, and small children.... I watched him climb up on a small child once (Pooche, not Porter), and start humping him. His little lipstick came out.... it was funny. He wasn't being aggressive, just amorous. Pooche was really a sweet old dog. I never met a dog that was so like his owner (or maybe the other way around).

What does shooting bottle rockets at the leader add to the grade of the climb?
