don't forget getting hit when another climber fell (I almost fell on somebody at roadside last year, another climber on tr on the next route over traversed to directly under me while i was on lead. some people have no sense at all) i had some words for the first time climber and their "supposedly" more experienced belayer when i got down.

Ho told me of a guy who had his front teeth yanked out. He was pulling up to clip, put the rope in his mouth, fell and bit down. His teeth were sticking straight out of his gums.

Oh and Ashtray told me of a couple. One where a guy fell and pulled a bolt out of the climb Sand (not hurt bad) and another where a guy screwed up cleaning a route and decked (hurt bad). I forget the climber's names.
Jesus only knows that she tries too hard. She's only trying to keep the sky from falling.

Along with falling with the rope in your mouth and doing a bit of 'dental extraction':
<shuddder> degloving <gulp>

Along with broken ankles, there have been plenty of bruised feet from slamming back into the wall.

Oh, yeah, and I scraped my hand a bit last Sunday walking back to the car when I slipped on a mossy rock!

I get hurt more on the approaches than I ever do climbing.

the guy who had the dental incident (if you're talking about the same one I am) simply pushed his teeth back where they were supposed to be and there were no lasting problems. Hearing this story a few years back from The Snyd, who saw this happen, freaked me out and discouraged me from putting the rope in my mouth in order to clip. I was told last weekend that this is why I suck at clipping, but I can live with that. I've tried holding the rope with my lips, but it doesn't work very well.

Sand inhibits the production of toughtosterone, so get it out and send.
