Sandy, it was probably the extra weight of the atc that caused the jug to break...

Well, can't you put in on one of your rear loops like a real frenchie? While on the belay loop it always catches on a feature, which, in turn, impedes my progress, usually at the most inopportune moment. Screw modesty... figuratively speaking.

I had a similar experience in Wild Iris - but I was the 'loosener' not the 'puller loose'. It was the honkin' clipping 'ridge' for a sport 9. I yarded on that thing while clipping and cleaning and never felt it budge. I was on the next route over a few minutes later, when the guy on it got to the anchors and pulled off a good 6" wide, 14" long, 4" thick chunk of the ridge. Luckily, he palmed it, so it didn't fall on his belayer.
